LINDSAY GALLERY ANNUAL JURIED SHOW

This exciting annual competition showcases outstanding work by artists in the City of Kawartha Lakes and Haliburton County and member-artists.

Juror Biography

Olexander Wlasenko is Curator of The Station Gallery in Whitby, ON. He has also curated a number of exhibitions in recent years for The Robert McLaughlin Gallery in Oshawa.  He is an experienced juror, lecturer and author of exhibition catalogues and numerous papers.  He is an exhibiting artist in his own right and has had many solo exhibitions in public galleries.  He received his Master of Fine Arts in 2000 from University of Western Ontario, Honours BA from University of Guelph in 1997, and graduated from the Ontario College of Art and Design, Toronto in 1995.

Juror's Statement

 

This exhibition represents the best that an artistic community can offer.  In it, we can find an array of material approaches and conceptual concerns.  This It showcases the full range of creativity and human emotion at the Lindsay Gallery.

The Exhibit

A total of 45 works from the 79 entries submitted were selected by the Juror for the Juried Show exhibit. Visitors to the Lindsay Gallery from June 29 to July 30 may vote for their favourite work of art in the Exhibit. The work of art voted the most popular wins the People's Choice Award, which is presented to the winning artist after the exhibit ends.
