Artist Biography and Statement
I took my first jewellery course about 5 years ago and loved it so much that I looked for more. Over the past several years, I have taken several courses in different mediums and read many how-to books and practiced my techniques. I have always loved gemstones and crystals, and I was a member of a Gem & Mineral club years ago. I never thought then that it would lead me to working and creating jewellery today. The fused glass is a new medium that I have been working with. I purchased a large kiln and have been having fun with new projects.
I am still evolving into my own unique style and finding different products to work with. I like to create different looks with the multitude of gemstones that are available. My main focus is on necklace and earring sets, bracelets, pewter pendants filled with a mix of stones and pearls, and fused glass pendants and earrings. The creative possibilities are endless. I have recently retired from my full time job and will now have more time to devote to my jewellery.
In the past few years I have participated in several craft shows and events in the Uxbridge area. I would like to thank the Lindsay Gallery for this opportunity.
