Niki's first solo show offers a feast to the eyes with many different art forms on display, Kraslice, encaustic and painted glassware.

This exciting show includes encaustics, painted glass, ceramics and kraslice (decorated eggshells). She will also show examples of this old painting method and exquisite examples of decorative art.

Niki Tichakova is well known in the Czech community for her famous gingerbread, winning top honours for entries in the Fenelon Falls gingerbread competition. But she isn't limited to just gingerbread. She seems to shine at whatever artistic idea that comes to her head. Her decorated egs called "kraslice" are delicate beauties. She does encaustic painting, which is an art form cultivated in Ancient Rome, Greece and Egypt and involves "painting" in melted wax.

As usual, Niki has a technique that is totally unlike most encaustic artists. Hers is a delicate treatment and her paintings are luminous. Niki will be in this years Victoria County Studio Tour but come and visit her at The Lindsay Gallery.
