Susan Staniforth - Hey! Who Put this Label on my Work?
This comparative exhibit is aimed at encouraging thoughtful, informed discourse on the essential differences and similarities between two forms of visual art: two dimensional fine art and illustration.
As Ms. Staniforth explains:
“With this exhibit, I don't intend to defend or promote one art form as being ‘better' or more elevated than the other, merely different. As a visual artist, I believe that fine art and illustration are equally valid art forms, and that the essential difference is in a work's purpose or function. Or, put another way, the essential difference between the two is the artist's intent.”
