MARCH BREAK ART CAMP 2012
Date: March 12 - 16, 2012
9am - 4pm
$225 for parents or guardians with a family membership, $250 for non members for 5 days of instruction.
Classes are taught by artists, and will include new projects for previous campers including:
Drawing Principles, Scratch Art, Acrylic Painting, Chalk Pastels, Self Portraits using a variety of mediums, Intro to Graphic Design and Soap Stone Carving!
Note for Parents: The Canadian government has created the Children's Arts Tax Credit which helps with the costs of these programs by allowing parents to claim the 15% credit on up to $500 of qualifying expenses in 2011 and future years, for a child who is under the age of 16 at the beginning of the tax year. This camp qualifies for that credit.
Camp sizes are limited and registration will be on a first come basis.
Art Camp Registration Form- Children
Use this form for registering your child for the Summer Art Camp with the Lindsay Gallery. This form can be typed on and emailed back to art@thelindsaygallery.com to complete your registration.
Children's Emergency Contact and Release Form
This form is required for all children registered for our day classes. It provides the art instructors with information on any health issues they should be aware of and contact information in the event of an emergency. It is also a Release Form for you to consent to use of any pictures of your child the Gallery might take to be used in promotional materials about our children's programs.
ADULT CLASSES
Introduction to DSLR—Photography
Beginner to Novice with Fred Thornhill
Date: Saturday, January 28, 9am—4pm
Fee: $90 for Gallery members; $99 for non-members
Brief Description: Get a better understanding the basics of photography and terminology like ISO, shutter speed and aperture, creative use of exposure controls, basics of flash, resolution, the choice between JPEG/NEF (RAW) choice etc.!

Winter in the Country —Watercolour
Novice to Advanced with Instructor Cindy Bell
Dates: Weekend ofFebruary 4 and 5, 9am - 5pm
Fee: $144 for Gallery members;
$160 for non-members for 12 hours of instruction
Brief Description: Create a nostalgic scene with
snow-laden evergreens, a farmhouse and red barn, using
techniques that will be learned and applied to future landscapes.

Introduction to Pastel Painting
Beginner to Intermediate with Ruth Rodgers
Date: Saturday, February 11, 9am-4pm
Fee: $90 for Gallery members; $99 for non-members
Brief Description: This one-day course will use a cloud study painting project to introduce students to concept, composition, value, colour, underpainting, and finishing techniques using soft pastels.

Beginner Mixed Media
Beginner to Novice with Robbyn Moore
Date: 4 Wednesdays—Feb 15—March 7, 6pm-9pm
Fee: $144 for Gallery members; $160 for non-members
Brief Description: Learn how to use mixed media techniques to cre-ate unusual and interesting art pieces with a more abstract
contemporary look and feel. Techniques include creating textures, photo transfer and applications of various papers.
An Irish Castle in Spring—Watercolour
Novice to Advanced with Alana Biasi
Date: Weekend of March 3 and 4, 9am — 4pm
Fee: $144 for Gallery members; $160 for non-members
Brief Description: Create a painting that will encompass the uniqueness and wonder of myth and legend from
Ireland. The artist will render an old Irish Castle in the spring with a splash of wild flowers and reflections.
Pysanky: Learn to Make Ukranian Easter Eggs
Beginner to Intermediate with Niki Tichakova
Date: Tuesday, March 20th from 6pm—9pm
Fee: $45 for members; $50 for non-members
Brief Description: Just in time for decorating for Easter! Learn the process of decorating eggs with dye and beeswax in traditional Ukrainian folk designs.
Painting Landscapes in Oil
Novice to Advanced with Lucy Manley
Date: 4 Wednesdays March 21-April 11, 1pm—4pm
Fee: $144 for members; $160 for non-members
Brief Description: This course will focus on the com-position of a landscape, blocking in with values and adding local colour. Students will work adding layers of paint from thin-to-thick to breakdown the large shapes and model to produce a 3-dimensional effect.

Beginner Watercolour: Spring Botanicals
Beginner to Intermediate with Karen Richardson
Date: Two Saturdays, March 24 and 31, 9am— 4pm
Fee: $144 for Gallery members; $160 for non-members
Brief Description: Learn to paint realistic spring flowers. You will learn how to construct realistic compositions
using essential skills; designing a balanced layout, and creating believable colours from just three pigments.
Art Class Evaluation Form
If you have attended a recent art workshop or class, please fill out an art class evaluation form. The information collected is used to improve art programming at The Lindsay Gallery.
Classes Fill Quickly. Registrations with payments on a first-come basis. Call 324-1780 to register or for more information.
Art Class Registration Form and How to Register
Use this form for registering for Adult art classes with the Lindsay Gallery.
It can either be:

filled out directly on the pdf and emailed back to art@thelindsaygallery . If not paying by credit card, your cheque must be delivered to the Lindsay Gallery within 48 hours.

printed and mailed with your cheque or credit card information to The Lindsay Gallery, 190 Kent St. West, 2nd floor, Lindsay, ON K9V 2Y6

printed and delivered personally to the Lindsay Gallery located upstairs in the public library in downtown Lindsay. If Gallery is closed, please slip your registration form with cheque under the gallery door.
Registration for all classes is accepted at the Gallery from 10am to 4pm, Tuesday to Saturday.
Payment Information
Payment with registration is required and early registration is recommended, as class size is limited.
Classes may be paid by cash, cheque, Interact, Visa or Mastercard when registering at the Gallery or by Visa and MasterCard when registering by phone at 324-1780.
If there is not enough enrollment in a class, it will be cancelled one week prior to the start date. A full refund will apply.

Art Class Policies, Terms and Conditions
If the art class is cancelled due to insufficient enrolment, or for other unforseen circumstances, the registered participant's payment will be returned and a full refund processed. Participants may choose to transfer their payment to another class.
No refund will be given for an art course, class, program, or workshop if notice of withdrawl is not received at least one week in advance of commencement. All refunds are subject to a $15.00 admininstration fee.
Allergen Policy: The Lindsay Gallery advises all program registratants suffering from allergenic medical conditions, documented or otherwise, that they register for art classes at their own risk. The Lindsay Gallery, its employees, instructors, contractors and volunteers make no representations and will accept no liability regarding presence or absence of all allergens at facilities where art programs take place.

Art Class Instructors
The Lindsay Gallery offers art classes in a variety of mediums and skill levels. We offer Adult Winter, Spring and Fall programs (Jan to June and Sept to November). For Children's programs we offer a week long Art Camp in July.
