POTTERY AND SCULPTURE

Clay pendants, functional stoneware and small wall sculptures.
Alissa Whalen has been creating and experimenting with clay for 10 years. Her love for nature, plants and flowers is illustrated in the unique designs and decoration shown in her vessels. Shape and design continues to grow, which produces a diverse and evolving body of work.
Alissa enjoys making mostly one of a kind pottery which brings delight and special meaning to her audience. Using hand crafted pottery for the everyday activities of eating and drinking elevate these moments in our experience and memories.
Alissa has shown her work at various art shows in Ontario including Signatures and One of Kind, as well as at local art galleries. She is involved in community art groups and participates in local studio tours. Alissa has been teaching adult and children pottery classes for 8 years in the community and more recently at her home studio north of Bobcaygeon/Fenelon Falls.

ABOUT THE SHOWCASE
The Showcase is the Gallery's retail gift boutique, which offers Gallery visitors a chance to see and purchase a wide-ranging variety of small crafts by area Artisans. It is a popular source for unique, high quality gifts.
Each cabinet display area measures 36" wide, 24" high and 23" deep with a removable glass shelf.

These showcase exhibits, which change monthly, run from mid-month to mid-month overlapping with two Gallery Exhibits and one Opening Reception. Regular Gallery visitors are treated to two exhibits per month!

The Lindsay Gallery is pleased to give area artists another venue to Showcase their work. The Lindsay Gallery accepts applications from Artisans interested in displaying work for sale in the Gallery Showcase. Gallery Membership is not required and no fee is charged for the space.
