Susan Staniforth - "Gourdgeous"
This showcase by Fenelon Falls artist/artisan Susan Staniforth features functional, decorative and mixed media works created using a wide variety of hardshell gourds. Most of these beautiful pieces originated from gourds lovingly grown and cured by the artist herself. Gourds were the first plants species domesticated by humans, and were used to create vessels and containers over 10,000 years ago – long before clay or stone pottery were invented. Visit this showcase to see how gourds continue to fascinate and inspire today!

For over two decades I have exhibited in public and commercial galleries in Canada and the USA, my works reside in public and private collections and I have been the recipient of numerous art awards.
