Volunteer Recognition The annual celebration of our Volunteers and the invaluable role they play in the Gallery’s operations and activities has been moved from December to our Annual General Meeting in March/April to tie in with Volunteer Service Month in Canada. Each year we are asked to submit recommendations for extra ordinary service to various awarding organizations and as well we want to recognize our Volunteers too! Are there members of our Gallery who deserve special recognition? Drop us a line and let us know what you think! 30th Anniversary Banner Conceived to celebrate the 30th Anniversary of The Lindsay Gallery, this four-metre long banner, (right) now hanging in the stairwell leading to the Gallery, was the inspiration of Jane Stewart. Each 5 x 6 inch square is individually created and hand painted by members and friends of the Gallery. Spaces in the two top rows of the banner were reserved for some of the Gallery’s original members, including Marion Larocque, Sandra Ackert, and Lois Smith-Brennan. Brenda Milner and Dorothy DeNure, long-standing members of the Gallery, are also represented near the top of the banner. Many thanks to Jane Stewart for all her help to complete and hang the banner! Help Wanted! The Gallery operates through its members - members like you! If you have a talent or interest and a little extra time, we certainly need you. Please see our Volunteer page for details of the areas you may be able to help. If every person that cared - about what art means to society and our community - were to volunteer just one hour a year, we could accomplish so much more.
